What is a giclee?

"Giclee" is a French word that has come to indicate a fine art reproduction produced by an advanced ink jet printing process. The quality of these prints rival or surpass the quality of prints produced by traditional printing methods. Frank Fuchs Giclees are printed on heavy cotton rag paper that is similar to the watercolor paper the original painting was painted on. The paper is acid free and the inks are archival so that your print will not fade. Like original watercolors, however, these prints should not be displayed where they receive large amounts of direct sunlight.
